I believe that the role of the doctor is that of educator. I educate and inform my patients to help them make the healthcare choices that are best for them.

Patient Experience

Dr. Porto believes in educating patients in and out of the exam room. She has received awards for outstanding service and teaching, lectured on several women’s health issues, and has been a contributor to numerous pregnancy publications. Additionally, Dr. Porto is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a member of several prestigious medical organizations, including the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Council of Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Society of Colposcopists and Cervical Pathologists, and the Price–Pottenger Nutrition Foundation.


After earning her bachelor of science degree, with Magna Cum Laude distinction, and doctorate in medicine at Loyola University, Dr. Porto completed her residency at the University of Illinois. She practiced for eight years with a private Obstetrics/Gynecology group in Riverside, Illinois where she was a Clinical Instructor for Obstetrics/Gynecology and Family Practice Residency programs. She then moved on to practice at Alivio Medical Center, where she implemented a Diabetes in Pregnancy Program, provided high-risk consultation and back-up to a large midwifery practice, and was a member of Quality Improvement and Peer Review/Credentials Committees of Community HealthCare Choice HMO. Dr. Porto has also practiced at Chicago Women’s HealthCare, SC and Mercy Hospital and Medical Center where she was chairman for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Residency Program Director.
